The Jon Sanchez Gallery
A space dedicated to photography, in the heart of Biarritz
Opened in July 2024 at 54 rue Gambetta, the gallery is an extension of my photographic work. I wanted to create a place where my images reach their full potential, where you can discover the prints up close and take the time to connect.
The ocean, light, and colors of the Basque coast hold a central place here, alongside photographs taken during my travels.
From my first photographs to the gallery
My journey with photography began in 2016. Living in Biarritz and passionate about surfing, I naturally turned my gaze toward the ocean and the landscapes that surround me.
Over the years, I have developed a personal approach, guided by clean compositions, balanced horizons, and natural light. A distant silhouette, a wave, or a few fleeting moments of light become the elements of an image.
This work has gradually been shared beyond the Basque coast. Social media, collaborations, and the trust of collectors around the world have allowed me to share my photographs with an ever-growing audience.
The opening of the gallery in July 2024 marks a new stage in this journey: giving my images a home in Biarritz and creating a direct connection with those who appreciate them.
Discovering the works in a new way
A photograph is experienced differently when seen in print. Its format, color nuances, and the texture of the medium are all integral to the experience.
At the gallery, you can appreciate the prints in person, observe their details, and discover the various mediums and framing options. From fine art paper to aluminum or acrylic glass, each finish brings a unique presence to the image.
My books also find their place in this space. They offer a different reading of my work, through the interplay between the photographs and the rhythm of the pages.

The gallery is also a place where we can talk about the images, their history, and what they evoke for you.
